Alsace Accommodation

The options for your Alsace bike tour accommodation are:

Our recommended booking agent is It lists a wide range of bike tour hotels on or close to the bike route, both boutique and more traditional in style. These can support you all the way through Alsace and back to the ferry ports etc. You can view the comments of guests who have stayed in a particular hotel to help you make a decision.

Once you are in the area, you can often book through the local tourist offices, or they will at least help you to make a booking yourself. Most tourist offices will have an English speaker available. You can use the village websites we have provided and these will generally offer you good access to the smaller facilities.

Guesthouses & B&Bs

We have not been able to find a single source for booking quality small guesthouses and Bed and Breakfasts in the Alsace region on the web. (If you know of one, please email us with the details.)

Instead, if you prefer to stay in accommodation of this type then we suggest that you (in this order):

  1. use
  2. look at the Alsace web sites of the villages you are interested in (see the tabular route guide).
  3. Google "Bed and Breakfast" and "Chambre d'Hote" (the latter being the French phrase for a guesthouse or simple hotel), plus the name of the Alsace village in question.
  4. Look at Google Maps in the Alsace and Google "Bed and Breakfast" and later "Chambre d'Hote". Small red dots will spring up showing where they are relative to the Alsace cycle route.

Apartments & gites

Again, we are not aware of a good Alsace-specific agency for apartments to support our cycle tour, although Gites-de-France offers a good country-wide service. If an apartment is of interest we recommend you choose a village from the tabular route guide) and look at the apartment web sites listed there. Generally you need to book an apartment for 3 or more days, probably a week in high season, but for a family with young children this can be a great way of enjoying the area.

We are not experts on bike tour campsites but it is noticeable that a fair proportion of those in Alsace are members of EuroCampings and also promote themselves on the village web-sites.
