Guesthouses & B&Bs
There is no one perfect solution to finding B&Bs in the area, however, we recommend that you search in this sequence:
- use Hotels.com
- look at the web sites of the villages you are interested in (see our Lake Constance Guide village table)
- Google "Bed and
Breakfast" and "Pension" (the latter being the German phrase for a
guesthouse or simple hotel), plus the name of the Lake Constance village
in question.
- The specialist Swiss B&B company is only useful on the Swiss side
Apartments & gites
We have not used a good Lake Constance agency for apartments to support our cycle tour, but we have found Bodensee Gastgeber which seems to offer a lot of coverage. If an apartment is of interest we recommend you choose a village from our tabular Lake Constance Guide
and look at the apartment web sites listed there. Generally you need
to book an apartment for 3 or more days, probably a week in high season,
but for a family with young children this can be a great way of
enjoying the area. With a little planning, you could use the ferries or
trains to get back to your apartment at the end of each day's ride.

Campsites
We are not experts on campsites but it is noticeable that a fair proportion of those in Lake Constance are members of EuroCampings and also promote themselves on the village websites listed in our Lake Constance Guide. There is also a general Swiss camping website which covers the whole country and this looks good for the Swiss side of the water.
