The options are:

Essex hotels

Our recommended booking agent is Hotels.comIt lists a wide range of hotels.  You can view the comments of guests who have stayed in a particular hotel to help you make a good choice.

Once you are in the area or using local websites, you can often book accommodation through the local tourist offices, or they will at least help you to make a booking yourself.  You can use our Essex Guide to find the village or town websites.

You can also access information via Google Maps by typing in "B&B" or "Bed and Breakfast" when you have a map of the area open on your screen.

Essex cottages

Generally you need to book a cottage or an apartment for 3 or more days, probably a week in high season, but for a family with young children this can be a great way of enjoying the area.

The terms "Holiday Apartment" and "Country Cottage" and "letting" are used to cover the various options. Here is a good supplier in East Anglia

Essex campsites

The largest supplier of campsite information is UKCampSite.
